I'm a visual learner. In many ways, I think we're all predominantly visual learners. Who doesn't understand something better when it's drawn out for them? It's for this reason that I love infographics. Not only as a way to understand things better myself, but as a tool to help explain ideas to other people.
Reddit user sesipikai brings us one of the more heart-warming (pun intended) infographics you'll ever see. He kept a log of his heart rate in the time immediately before and after his marriage proposal. To help narrate the story his heart rate is telling, he added little notes about what he was doing that effected his heart rate. We all know ice cream is delicious, but did you know it could calm your heart rate so much? As someone who has been on the asking end of the proposal, I got a good chuckle out of the, "started proposing silently" and "started proposing using words" notes. I certainly said it several times in my head and probably made several, awkward jerky movements before I actually said it aloud. Unfortunately, I didn't have any ice cream beforehand to calm me. Instead, we hiked up a mountain. I'm afraid to think of what my heart rate must have looked like.
